How We Review Optery

Where the reviews come from

We collected 181 reviews from four platforms where Optery customers publish feedback: Trustpilot, Better Business Bureau, Apple App Store and Google Play. Each platform page shows every review we collected there, not just the flattering ones, alongside the platform’s own overall rating so you can judge our selection against the full population.

We do not use reviews published by Optery’s competitors about Optery, and we quote each review as published. The Better Business Bureau redacts email addresses and links in review text; where that produced artifacts, we removed the redaction markers without changing the reviewer’s words.

How we select featured reviews

The homepage features a curated subset chosen for detail and recency, deliberately including critical reviews. We keep the negative reviews visible, with Optery’s responses where they exist, because balance is what makes a review site useful. The recurring complaints in the corpus are auto-renewal billing friction, removal speed on the largest data brokers, and the mobile app’s sign-in experience. We say so plainly.

Facts and comparisons

Pricing and feature claims are checked against the vendors’ own published pages and stamped with the date we captured them. In comparison pages, competitor facts come from the competitor’s own site, and we include a section on where the competitor wins. Expert quotes are attributed to their publications, including PCMag and CNET.

It does not change the reviews we show: the critical reviews stay, and the platform ratings we display are the platforms’ own numbers, which we cannot edit.
